do people get greater joy receiving expensive high-end gifts or diy-handmade gifts?
of course, the latter shows your sincerity and its one-of-a-kind, its a gift with a personal touch.
but doesnt spending so much money on an expensive gift shows that you are very sincere too?
i realised it has become some sort of like a habit of my gfs and me to include sth with a personal touch for each other's birthday gifts. we spend money to get pretty items from the malls AND we still get down to making the birthday girl something with our own hands. be it a personalised calendar, a photoframe, a collage, a baby mobile, a cake etc.
these are things that you cant buy even with a million bucks.
get that into your head, arrogant people!
